On Sunday, March 19th, 2023, the Indian Institute of Management Ranchi (IIM Ranchi) collaborated with the Ideate Inspire Ignite Foundation to host the North Pole Expedition Flag-off event for Mr. Satyarup Siddhanta, an accomplished mountaineer and motivational speaker, at the IIM Ranchi permanent campus in Prabandhan Nagar, Ranchi. The event began with the lighting of the auspicious lamp and the singing of the national anthem.
Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director of IIM Ranchi, Mr. Satyarup Siddhanta Mountaineer, Mr. Rajeev Gupta, Founder & Director of Ideate Inspire Ignite Foundation, Prof. Manish Kumar, Student Affairs Chair, and Prof. Amarendu Nandi at IIM Ranchi ignited the lamp to commence the event.
Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava welcomed the guests and emphasized how success, determination, and commitment can help someone achieve their goals. Mr. Rajeev Gupta addressed the audience starting with the quote "The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination." He emphasized the importance of nurturing creativity and innovation through sporting and adventure expedition activities and praised Mr. Siddhanta's achievements.
The audience gathered to celebrate the extraordinary accomplishments of Mr. Satyarup Siddhanta, who is the youngest person to have climbed the 7 highest peaks and 7 highest volcanic summits across 7 continents. He believes in the power of determination, grit, and willpower and wants to inspire others to confront their fears and overcome self-limiting beliefs. "Through my climbs, I want to inspire people ... to face their fear eye to eye and break free from the self-limiting beliefs that cripple them," said Mr. Satyarup.
Mr. Siddhanta, an exceptional motivational speaker, shared his experiences and challenges during his expeditions due to various factors but remained resolute and pushed through. He showcased videos of his team standing atop summits with the Indian flag flying high and emphasized the importance of leadership, teamwork, and a strong belief system. Mr. Siddhanta concluded that with the correct gear, mental stability, and physical fitness, anything is achievable.
The event included cultural and artistic performances, which added to the celebratory atmosphere. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a magical dance performance by students of IIM Ranchi.
Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava felicitated Satyarup and an officer from Cyberpeace Foundation also facilitated him.
The IIM Ranchi team, Rishabh, Hritik, and Pallavi, and the Ideate Inspire Ignite Foundation team, Kanishka Poddar, C M Chugh, Anup Prasad, Pravin Rajgadiya, Amit Modi, Hitesh Bhagat, RJ Rashi, and Nitika Thakur Mohta, made the event a success. The event left the audience with a newfound appreciation for the power of imagination, creativity, perseverance, and resilience in the face of challenges.
